Versión en español: Política de cookies

Last updated: 19 September 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones this website uses, who sets them and how you can accept, reject or change them at any time. It adds detail to the cookie banner you see on your first visit, and follows Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the cookie guide published by the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD). This policy is also available in Spanish; both versions have the same content.

In short: we only use the technical cookies this website needs. Our fonts and images are served from our own server, so no third-party content is loaded before you give your consent. Google Maps and Vimeo videos stay blocked until you allow them, and we do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit it, so that it can remember information about your visit, such as your preferences. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, are treated in the same way in this policy.

Cookies can be described in three ways:

  • By who sets them: first-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting (here, SHERPA71); third-party cookies are set by another company whose content appears on the page.
  • By purpose: technical cookies make the website work; preference cookies remember choices such as your cookie settings; analytics cookies measure how a website is used; advertising cookies are used to show ads.
  • By duration: session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies stay for a set period or until you delete them.

2. Who uses cookies on this website

SHERPA71 (Rankof Sport Rankings LLC), the owner of this website, sets the first-party technical cookies described below. You can find the owner's details in our Legal Notice.

Google (Google Maps) and Vimeo (videos) may set third-party cookies, but only if you allow external media or choose to load a map or a video. SHERPA71 does not control these cookies or what those companies do with the data they collect.

3. How we ask for your consent

On your first visit, a banner explains how we use cookies and gives you three options. "Accept all" and "Reject all" are shown side by side with the same design, so rejecting is as easy as accepting:

  • Accept all: allows all the optional categories.
  • Reject all: keeps only the technical cookies. The website works normally; maps and videos stay blocked until you decide to load them.
  • Settings: lets you choose category by category.

On the Spanish-language pages of this website, the banner and the settings panel are shown in Spanish.

The categories are:

  • Technical cookies: needed for the website to work and to remember your cookie choices. They are always active and cannot be switched off, because they do not need your consent.
  • External media: the Google Maps map on our Contact page and the videos we host on Vimeo. Until you allow this category, each map or video is replaced by a short notice with a "Load map" or "Play video" button, so you can load a single item without accepting the whole category.
  • Analytics: statistics about how visitors use the website. We do not use analytics at present, so this category only appears if analytics is switched on in the future.

Optional cookies are never set before you accept them. Simply continuing to browse or scrolling the page is not taken as consent.

No third-party resources are loaded before you give your consent. The fonts, images and other files that make up this website are hosted on our own server, so browsing it does not send information about your visit to other companies. Links to other websites, such as our Vimeo channel, only take you there if you click them.

Changing or withdrawing your consent

You can change your mind at any time, as easily as you gave your consent. Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or open your cookie settings now. If you withdraw your consent, external content will no longer load. Cookies that Google or Vimeo have already set stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them (see section 6).

How long we remember your choice

We remember your choice, including a rejection, for 12 months, so that the banner does not appear on every page. After that, or sooner if we change the cookies we use or this policy in a way that affects your choice, we will ask you again.

4. Cookies used on this website

For each cookie or service, we explain who sets it, what it is for and how long it lasts.

cms_consent

  • Set by: SHERPA71 (first-party).
  • Type: technical / preferences.
  • Purpose: stores your cookie choices: the categories you accept or reject, the date, the version of this policy and a random identifier used to record your consent (it does not reveal who you are).
  • Duration: 12 months.
  • Consent: not required. This cookie is exempt because it is needed to respect your choice.
  • Record of your choice: each time you make or change your choice, we also keep a record of it on our server so that we can prove it, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

sherpa_cms

  • Set by: SHERPA71 (first-party).
  • Type: technical (session and security).
  • Purpose: keeps authorised users signed in to the website's administration panel and protects its login form. It is only set when someone opens the administration panel's login page; visitors who simply browse the public website never receive it.
  • Duration: session (deleted when you log out or close your browser).
  • Consent: not required (strictly necessary).

Google Maps

  • Set by: Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC (third-party).
  • When: only after you accept External media, or press "Load map" on the Contact page.
  • Cookies: Google may set cookies such as NID, AEC, SOCS and __Secure-ENID.
  • Purpose: functionality, preferences, security and advertising, as decided by Google.
  • Duration: up to 13 months.
  • More information: how Google uses cookies.

Vimeo

  • Set by: Vimeo.com, Inc. and Cloudflare, the network provider Vimeo uses (third-party).
  • When: only after you accept External media, or press "Play video".
  • Cookies: we load the Vimeo player with its "do not track" option, so Vimeo does not set tracking or analytics cookies. Vimeo and Cloudflare may still set strictly necessary cookies such as __cf_bm (30 minutes) and _cfuvid (session), which protect the service against bots and abuse.
  • More information: Vimeo cookie policy.

Analytics

This website does not use analytics cookies at present. If the owner decides to use an analytics tool in the future, it will only load after you give your consent in the Analytics category, and we will update this list before it is switched on.

This website does not use advertising or social media cookies of its own.

5. International transfers

Google LLC and Vimeo.com, Inc. are based in the United States. If you load a map or a video, those companies may receive technical data, such as your IP address, in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of protection, for companies certified under it, and otherwise by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. You can read more in Google's Privacy Policy and Vimeo's Privacy Policy.

6. How to manage cookies in your browser

As well as using our cookie settings, you can allow, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. These guides explain how to do it in the most common browsers:

If you block all cookies, this website will still work, but it will not be able to remember your cookie choices, so the banner will appear again on every page.

7. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy whenever the cookies used on this website change. If a change affects the choices you have made, we will show the banner again so that you can decide. The current version is always published on this page with its update date.

8. Contact

If you have any questions about cookies or your personal data, write to us at info@sherpa71.com. You can find more information about how we handle your data in our Privacy Policy.
